Student constructs high resolution cave simulations for National Park Service

Epic games interviewed Blase LaSala, a member of the RSG lab and recent addition to the T3 Ecoinformatics program, for his work documenting caves for the National Park Service using LiDAR, photogrammetry and supercomputing clusters. If you ever wanted to explore a cave from the comfort of your own home this is a great way to do it! While virtual tourism is fun, Blase joined the T3 program to explore how high resolution remote sensing data can be utilized to better understand cave and karst systems. You can see Blase’s interview about his exciting work here.
