Dr. Temuulen “Teki” Sankey has received renewed funding through the Salt River Project (SRP) to evaluate the effects of forest thinning and other restoration practices on soil moisture. Dr. Sankey and her students use sensors and NAU’s high-performance computing resources to constrain restoration practices most likely to improve forest resilience to drought. You can find more information about Dr. Sankey’s research here and about her SRP-funded research here.
