Cameron Bodine, a PhD student co-advised by Dr. Dan Buscombe (Marda Science<\/a>) and Dr. Toby Hocking (Machine Learning Lab<\/a>), released PING Mapper<\/a>: a Python interface for reading, processing, and mapping side scan sonar data from low-cost sonar systems. The software allows researchers and scientists to turn inexpensive fish finders into scientific instruments to support aquatic research.
