Aridity Index is a key factor for land-atmosphere feedbacks

Ecoinformatics professor and SICCS director Ben Ruddell was part of an interdisciplinary team that used a novel method to observe hotspots of land-atmosphere coupling. These land-atmosphere feedbacks will likely induce larger and less predictable impacts on regional climate in these hotspots than already anticipated.
